Dr. Taglia is a fellowship-trained specialist in glaucoma and cataract surgery. He also specializes in laser vision correction (LASIK, LASEK, and PRK). He graduated with honors from the University of Notre Dame. He then completed his medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School where he graduated near the top of class and was inducted in as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school national honor society.

He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Illinois Medical School, and his glaucoma fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. He is a member of the American and Indiana Academies of Ophthalmology and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Along the way, he has published articles in major research journals, including The Journal of Glaucoma, The Journal of Ophthalmology, and The Archives of Ophthalmology. He has also formally presented his research at the American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting.

He has been an assistant clinical instructor of Ophthalmology at the University of Illinois ophthalmology residency program, and has provided clinical instruction to medical students at the University of Indiana Medical School.

He has been in practice since 1998 at LTF Eye Clinics and has performed thousands of surgical procedures, including cataract, glaucoma, LASIK, and oculoplastic surgeries.
